The is a piece I have dedicated towards the LGBTQIA+ community with the event now taking place as the Mardi Gra. As a young Indigenous artist and newly gay man. I have found myself in a place where I see the world as more colourful and free. I am soo fortunate to be a part of the LGBTQIA+ community because I can truely express myself unapologetically. With a lorikeet being a great representation for the community. They fly high, strong and most off brightly. Being noticed by many. Which I find soo true about the LGBTQIA+ community it’s soo vibrant bright and when you see us you really see us. I have symbols that represent the journey of being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and all the lessons that have changed us but the world. A space that can allow us to show who we are and how colourful we are. I have symbols that represent the layers to the community and the layers of history that have shaped who we are now and how fortunate we are from the many strong people who fought for our rights. So shine your colours as bright as you can and be the most unapologetic you that you truely can be!
